I recently made a lot of comparison on mattresses. After much debate, I decided I would go and try out some mattresses at a furniture store and then compare prices. I did not buy a mattress online, I had not seen in person. I knew that I was leaning against a Tempurpedic mattress. 12" Deluxe Full (54"x75") Therapeutic w/5" 5LB Viscoelastic Memory Foam Mattress with Dual AirFlow System
I had bought a 10 "Queen DynastyMattress for my daughter (previous review) and she loves it so I thought I would give it a try. I changed my $ 200 cheap mattress that I bought less than a year ago with a 12" Full DynastyMattress . As I mentioned in my previous review, I never slept on a memory foam mattress before so I knew I took a chance. I've always thought they were too hard.
The mattress came about a week after I ordered it and uncompressed in a few hours. Yes, it's the smell, but it did not bother me and went away after about 3 or 4 days. The first night was a little different than a regular mattress, but I woke up without back pain for the first time in over a week. After that I forgot that I was resting on the memory foam and it just seems like a regular mattress for me. Not too fast, and it springs back, when I change positions. My wife really likes it but says she will not get one because her old Temper-Pedic made her too hot at night. I can not feel it, but I like being warm anyway.
Long story short, a major investment of $ 500, but worth every penny so far. No pain in my back and very comfortable. If I can get 5 years of it, I'll be very happy.
